Vacuum pump system KNF SC 920 with portable terminal
This new vacuum pump system now supports remote control over a portable hand terminal.
A pressure sensor measures the actual pressure in the system several times per second, and a microprocessor monitors any pressure drop over time. The pump speed is adapted according to this information constantly.
Four operating modes
- Evacuate: the vacuum pump system evacuates a vacuum chamber with adjustable pump capacity.
- Pressure control: the vacuum pump system controls the system pressure to the set value (constant pressure).
- Automatic: the vacuum pump system automatically finds the vapor pressure of the sample and adjusts the process pressure accordingly.
- Individual pressure profile: the vacuum pump system controls the process according to a user-defined pressure curve. The setpoint pressure and the opening and closing of the coolant valve (accessory) on the high-performance condenser can be easily entered for a range of set times. A repeat function allows successive repetitions of the programmed pressure curve.

Principle
The scroll pump is based on almost unknown mechanics which uses two spirals. One spiral is stationary and the other one rotates around. It gradually generates series of closed compartments with decreasing volume and increasing pressure. The transport of gas or liquid is smooth and progressive. The multiple mechanical closure through the contact of both spirals results in very good pressure stability. This means that the final pressure does not decrease with the flow rate as is usual in other pump types. The scroll principle has been invented hundred years ago. However it could not be produced without modern numerically controlled machines. Scroll system has been selected because of its inherent quality features:

Micro Diaphragm Gas Pump NMP 03
These micro diaphragm pumps are based on reciprocating displacement pump technology. An eccentric system transforms the circular movement of the motor shaft into an oscillating movement, which is applied to the diaphragm via a connecting rod. Working in conjunction with the inlet and outlet valves, the movement of the diaphragm generates the actual pump operation.
