Gas Mass Flow Control MASSFLOW
MASSFLOW is a new gas mass flow controller system specially designed for the use with laboratory bioreactors and fermentors. For example it allows the control of pH of cell culture by controlled addition of gaseous CO2. Or it can control the dissolved oxygen with the air flow. In most cases it is used with in a cascade control. However it can be also used quite independently, since all functions can be accessed from the front panel of the MASSFLOW.
A high quality laminar mass flow sensor tube without bypass measures the flow rate. The result appears on a digital display. The flow rate is regulated by a special proprietary proportional needle valve controlled by a microprocessor.
The gas fow controller MASSFLOW can be set manually using buttons on the front panel or using remote control. The analogical remote control includes ON/OFF and 0 to 10 V full-scale control of flow rate. A full digital control uses an RS 485 connection. 2 programs (Siam and PNet) have been developped for such applications.
Programming
Up to 30 pairs of flow rates and time can be programmed. This allows switching the flow on and off or setting any flow rate for a time interval.
Totaliser
MASSFLOW generates impulsions after every 5 ml of gas flow. These impulsions can be totalized by an INTEGRATOR. In this way exact volume information can be obtained.
Zero setting
An automatic zero setting which further improve the precision of the flow rate reading equips MASSFLOW.
