Which tube for which application ?
The PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) tubing is ideal for normal laboratory operation.
Do you need also at the edge of pressure and temperature range "absolutely gas-tight" hose, you should use PFA (Perflouralkoxy) or FEP (fluorinated ethylene propylene). PFA has only at temperatures above +205 ° C benefits, but is more expensive than the FEP tubing.

PFA Flanged Corrugated Tubing
Corrugated tubing with circular corrugations around the longitudinal axis and flanged end pieces made of PFA, with two preassembled screw caps with GL thread made of PBTP (polybutylene terephthalate) and washers made of silicone for direct connection to components and devices with GL screw neck. The connection is absolutely tight and suitable for vacuum.
Small bending radius allow connections in a tight space. More lengths on demand.
- Temperature resistance: from -45°C to +180°C

Viton® Typ GF-S Tube (LEZ-VITCHEM 70GF)
Viton® Type GF-S is a new generation of fluoroelastomer terpolymer obtained by peroxide catalysis. With a 70% fluorine content (compared to 66% for Viton A and 67% for Viton B), its structure is close to that of PTFE, well known for its excellent resistance to virtually all chemicals. Viton GF-S has much better chemical resistance than Viton type A and B:
- Better resistance to water vapor up to 140 ° C
- Better resistance to cleaning agents used in the pharmaceutical or food industry.
- Better resistance to many chemicals and solvents, including strong acids, strong bases, methanol, ethanol and many amines, esters and terpenes
- Better Bioester resistance (FAME) obtained from colza oil and used in biodiesel, together with methanol and ethanol.
- Its improved strength also considerably increases the safety factor in applications using pipes and joints with hot steam or aggressive chemicals and solvents.
- Low extraction rate of metals and organic products, it is therefore suitable for food applications in accordance with FDA regulation 21 CFR § 177.2600.
These products can be manufactured with low hardness (70 Shore A or even 60 Shore A)
|
|
EPDM tube (LEZ-Periflex)
It can be used in food and beverage applications as it complies with FDA 21 CFR § 177.1520 and European Standard CE 10/2011.
LEZ-Periflex has excellent resistance to aqueous media, acids, bases, alcohols, glycols, and many organic solvents.
It is specially designed for use in peristaltic pumps. It is translucent and has excellent endurance.
