Description

Procedure

  • Moisten: Dip the swab into sterile physiological solution to activate.
  • Sample: Swipe the swab across a 10cm x 10cm area in both horizontal and vertical motions.
  • Cultivate: Insert the swab into the tube with the culture medium.
  • Incubate: Secure the tube and incubate at 37°C for 18-24 hours for optimal growth
  • Interpreting Red: Celebrate a clean bill of health with no Salmonella spp. detected. Red/Black: Presence of Salmonella spp., indicating contamination. Yellow/Black: Detection of Citrobacter spp.
