Description
Made only of fluoroplastic – without any sealing materials exposed to the medium. These flow filters are suitable for vacuum and pressure above atmospheric, resistant to virtually all chemicals and do not release any trace elements into the filtrate. Made of PTFE, these flow filters withstand temperatures up to max. 160°C. The filtering membrane is easily interchangeable after disassembly of the flow filter. Further advantages are: suitable for sterilization and metal-free. Assembly is done by a laboratory screw joint system which is based on two-part V-rings. This system assures an absolutely tight connection with fluoroplastic tubing or with plastic, glass or metal tubes under vacuum or overpressure. Due to a variety of connecting possibilities these flow filters can be used as a large area in-line apparatus, for installation into lines and in combination with a pump as an added filter for the liquid supply. The non-adhesive surface of the fluoroplastic (PTFE) allows easy cleaning of these flow filters. Thus, they have a long working life.
Table: Filtration flow rate for different pore sizes (PTFE membrane, differential pressure 100 kPa)
for a 25 mm diameter membrane with 0,2 mm thickness
Pore size (µm) | flowrate (ml/min) |
1 | 96 |
0.45 | 11 |
for a 90 mm diameter membrane with 0,2 mm thickness
Pore size (µm) | flowrate (ml/min) |
1 | 648 |
0.45 | 264 |
