Description
Viton® Type GF-S is a new generation of fluoroelastomer terpolymer obtained by peroxide catalysis. With a 70% fluorine content (compared to 66% for Viton A and 67% for Viton B), its structure is close to that of PTFE, well known for its excellent resistance to virtually all chemicals. Viton GF-S has much better chemical resistance than Viton type A and B:
- Better resistance to water vapor up to 140 ° C
- Better resistance to cleaning agents used in the pharmaceutical or food industry.
- Better resistance to many chemicals and solvents, including strong acids, strong bases, methanol, ethanol and many amines, esters and terpenes
- Better Bioester resistance (FAME) obtained from colza oil and used in biodiesel, together with methanol and ethanol.
- Its improved strength also considerably increases the safety factor in applications using pipes and joints with hot steam or aggressive chemicals and solvents.
- Low extraction rate of metals and organic products, it is therefore suitable for food applications in accordance with FDA regulation 21 CFR § 177.2600.
These products can be manufactured with low hardness (70 Shore A or even 60 Shore A)
