These special well plates, the PhoxyPlates, have optical sensors integrated in each well that are read out non-invasively through the transparent plate bottom with the readout unit. The innovative image-based read out makes PhoxyCube compatible with variable plate geometries. Currently well plates in 24-well plate format with both oxygen and pH sensor, and 96-well plates with either oxygen or pH sensors are available.
