For most samples, similar \u03b2-glucan values were obtained with both the optimized HCl and H<sub>2<\/sub>SO<sub>4<\/sub>\u00a0procedures. However, in the case of certain samples, specifically\u00a0<em>Ganoderma lucidum\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0<em>Poria cocus<\/em>, the H<sub>2<\/sub>SO<sub>4<\/sub>\u00a0procedure resulted in significantly higher values.<\/p>\n<p>McCleary, B.V. &amp; Draga, A.
