Dieser wird durch Luftsauerstoff aus dem Gasraum der Probenflasche ersetzt. Das gleichzeitig entstehende Kohlendioxid wird durch die im K\u00f6cher der Probenflasche befindliche Kaliumhydroxidl\u00f6sung chemisch gebunden.<\/p>\n<p>Dadurch entsteht im System eine Druckabnahme. Diese Druckabnahme ist direkt proportional zum BSB-Wert und wird vom BSB-Sensor gemessen. Der BSB-Wert in mg\/l kann dann direkt angezeigt werden.<\/p>\n<p>Im Anschluss werden die BSB-Messwerte gespeichert. Diese k\u00f6nnen jederzeit in mg\/l BSB auf einem gro\u00dfen Display angezeigt werden ohne dass ein umst\u00e4ndliches Umrechnen \u00fcber Faktoren erforderlich ist. So k\u00f6nnen auch Messreihen, die beispielsweise an einem Sonntag enden, problemlos in der folgenden Woche ausgewertet werden.<\/p>\n<p>F\u00fcr unterschiedliche Anwendungen ist der Messzeitraum frei zwischen 1 und 28 Tagen w\u00e4hlbar. W\u00e4hrend Kurzzeitmessungen f\u00fcr wissenschaftliche Anwendungen von Nutzen sind erstrecken sich regul\u00e4re BSB-Messung \u00fcber einen Zeitraum von 5 Tagen. Eine respirometrische Messung \u00fcber einen Zeitraum von 28 Tagen kommt beispielsweise bei der OECD Bestimmung zum Zuge.<\/p>\n<p>Aufgrund abweichender Probentemperaturen im Vorfeld treten beim Temperieren der Proben im Thermoschrank beispielsweise bei 20 \u00b0C f\u00fcr die BSB Messung Druckver\u00e4nderungen innerhalb des Messsystems auf. Diese w\u00fcrden zu Fehlern bei der respirometrischen Messung f\u00fchren. Um diese Fehler zu vermeiden ist das BSB-OxiDirect\u00ae mit einer Autostart-Funktion ausgestattet:<\/p>\n<p>Die Messung wird erst gestartet, nachdem die Temperatur in den Proben derjenigen im Thermostatschrank angeglichen ist.
