Die Schallgeschwindigkeit ist wie die Dichte eine stoff- und konzentrationsabh\u00e4ngige Gr\u00f6\u00dfe, die zur Bestimmung der Konzentration herangezogen werden kann. In einem gabelf\u00f6rmigen Me\u00dfkopf, der direkt in die Produktleitung ragt, wird die Laufzeit eines Schallimpulses auf einer definierten Wegstrecke gemessen. Erzeugt werden die Schallimpulse durch Piezokristalle. Die Temperaturabh\u00e4ngigkeit der Schallgeschwindigkeit wird dabei durch eine zus\u00e4tzliche elektronische Temperaturmessung mittels Pt1000 kompensiert. Der einfache mechanische Aufbau ohne bewegliche Teile macht den Sensor sehr zuverl\u00e4ssig und verschlei\u00dffrei.
